Bradford Council’s Policy for Admission to Nursery and Reception
For School Nursery Places
School will begin the allocation process in the Spring Term.
For School Reception Places
Bradford Council’s School Admissions will send out personalised letters for your child in November. The letters are distributed via Nursery classes and private nurseries. You should apply online via the Bradford Council Admissions website:
If your child does not attend either a school or private nursery please contact Bradford Council Admissions in November, for a blank form and information pamphlet.
How to apply for a place at Eldwick Primary School
Parents should contact school direct for a Nursery Application Form or click here to download a form. The completed form should be returned with a copy of the child’s birth certificate and their name will be put on the waiting list. Places are usually offered in the Spring term prior to the child starting in September.
With some very specific exceptions, we allocate places to Nursery according to Bradford Council’s Admission Policy which is as follows:
All parents must apply for a place in Reception, regardless of whether their child already attends the Nursery at Eldwick Primary School. School Admissions (Bradford Council) will send Primary School application information to Primary Schools, Nursery Schools and Early Years settings in the November prior to the child starting Reception in the September. Parents are encouraged to apply online. We are happy for parents to come into school to do this if they have difficulty accessing a computer. The closing date is in January and the allocation letters are issued in April. Any parent who applied online will receive an email in the morning on the ‘offer day’ informing them of the allocated school and a letter will be issued to every parent (who applied by the deadline date).
Parents will then need to complete an acceptance form and return it to the allocated school. If you did not get your first choice and returned a waiting list slip to School Admissions then your child’s name will be held by them on the waiting list until the following July, throughout the academic year that your child attends Reception.
All applications/allocations for a place for the child to start in the other year groups will be administered by School Admissions (following the criteria set out above).
