Progress Through Partnership

EYFS Transition Arrangements For Families

At Eldwick Primary School, we recognise the importance of ensuring that all children feel safe, secure and confident within our EYFS setting, enabling them to enjoy a positive and successful start to their school journey. Central to this is effective communication and strong partnerships with parents and carers, previous early years providers, and members of the Eldwick Primary team. Transition into school is a gradual and carefully planned process that takes place over time, involving collaboration between a range of key stakeholders to support each child’s individual needs.

Prospective Nursery and Reception families are warmly invited to visit our school for a tour with the Headteacher, Mr Lomas. These visits take place over a number of dates in Autumn 2 each year and these dates are published on our website. Please contact the school office if you would like to visit school

New To Nursery

Thank you for choosing Eldwick Primary School for your child.

Many parents ask us how they can help their child to feel ready for Nursery so we have developed a booklet with a list of typical skills we would expect your child to have in place when they start with us. Practising these will help make your child’s transition into Nursery as positive as possible.

We understand that every child grows and learns at their own pace. If your child is still developing some of these skills, please don’t worry. If you have any questions, or you'd like ideas of how to support your child at home, please ask: we are always happy to help. Working together ensures your child feels settled, confident and excited for their start in Nursery.
