Is my child too ill for school?
We know it can be challenging to decide whether to send your child in when they’re feeling unwell. The NHS has produced helpful guidance explaining what to do for common illnesses, when children should stay at home, and when they can still attend.
Is my child too ill for school?
If your child is absent from school, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing attendance@eldwick.bradford.sch.uk or sending a message via your Parentmail app. This helps us update our registers quickly and ensures we know that your child is safe.
If a child is not in school and we have not received a reason for their absence after registration, we are required to make contact with parents or carers. This is part of our safeguarding duty. When a child’s whereabouts are unknown, it becomes a potential missing‑child concern, and we must take steps to confirm they are safe and well.
Please be assured that these checks are routine and are carried out in the best interests of children. By informing us of absences promptly, you help us fulfil this important responsibility and ensure we can focus on supporting all pupils.
